About KLE Polytechnic Hubli
K.L.E. Society's Smt. Chanabasamma Ishwarappa Munavalli Polytechnic, Hubli — commonly known as KLE Polytechnic — was established in 1984 by the Karnataka Lingayat Education (KLE) Society. KLE Society was founded in 1916 by seven educators in Belagavi and today operates 293 institutions with 1,38,000 students and 18,000 staff across India, making it one of the largest educational societies in South India. The polytechnic was named in honour of Smt. Chanabasamma Ishwarappa Munavalli. Diploma courses began in 1984 in the premises of B.V.B. College of Engineering and Technology, Hubli, and the polytechnic subsequently moved to its own building within the BVB campus.
KLE Polytechnic is located on Vidyanagar, Hubli-Dharwad Highway (Pune-Bangalore National Highway), adjacent to KLE Technological University — 4 km from Hubli Railway Station. The campus shares the educational infrastructure of the larger KLE Vidyanagar complex. KLE Polytechnic offers 10 diploma programmes across two streams: Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, CSE, ECE, Electrical and Electronics, Automobile) and Design and Planning (Interior Design, Architecture). Total annual intake is 540 students. Fees are approximately Rs. 12,810 per year. Affiliated to DTE Karnataka and approved by AICTE.
Admission is through DTE Karnataka centralised counselling based on SSLC merit. The campus provides access to sports facilities, a bank, post office, canteen, and co-operative store shared across the KLE Vidyanagar complex. The Architecture diploma programme is uncommon among polytechnics, giving KLE Polytechnic a distinct profile in Hubli's diploma landscape. KLE Society's institutional ecosystem provides placement connections from KLE Tech and other KLE professional colleges, giving diploma graduates access to recruitment networks beyond what standalone polytechnics can provide.
