Gadag — Textile Heritage and Renewable Energy
Gadag-Betageri is a twin city known for its handloom textiles — Gadag sarees are famous for fine cotton weave — and the Trikuteshwara temple complex, an outstanding example of Chalukyan architecture. The city is located on NH-167B with a major railway junction connecting North Karnataka to Goa and Hyderabad. The local economy revolves around cotton textile production, cotton seed processing and agricultural trading. Gadag district is also a significant zone for wind energy installations on the North Karnataka plateau.
EEE graduates from TCE find employment in GESCOM (Gulbarga Electricity Supply Company) and wind farm operations. Civil Engineering graduates target cotton processing factory construction, warehouse infrastructure and road development projects in Gadag district. Mechanical graduates access cotton gin and pressing operations, agricultural machinery maintenance and the manufacturing sector in the Dharwad-Gadag corridor.
