Admission Process
For Karnataka students (KCET route): Candidates must qualify KCET conducted by KEA. The KCET rank determines eligibility for SVIT through the centralised online counselling process managed by KEA. Karnataka domicile, CET qualifying marks, and Class 12 PCM percentage all factor into seat allocation. SVIT participates in KEA's Option Entry and seat allotment rounds.
For other state students (COMEDK route): COMEDK UGET is the primary route. SVIT participates in COMEDK's centralised counselling. Candidates must register separately at the COMEDK portal after declaring their scores.
NRI/Management quota: A small percentage of seats are filled through management quota and NRI quota as per Karnataka government regulations. Applications are accepted directly at the college admissions office.
Fee Structure
As a private unaided engineering college affiliated to VTU, SVIT's fee structure is determined by the Karnataka Examination Authority fee fixation committee. Fees for KCET-admitted students are regulated. COMEDK and management quota students pay higher fees as per committee-approved rates. Current confirmed fee details are available at the KEA official website and at SVIT's admissions office. Students are advised to verify current fee structures directly with the college before admission.

Location Advantage
SVIT's Rajanukunte location on Doddaballapur Road gives it proximity to the Bangalore aerospace and manufacturing corridor. The KIADB Industrial Area in Doddaballapur, with companies in textiles, manufacturing and engineering, provides internship and placement opportunities for Mechanical and Civil Engineering students. The proximity to Kempegowda International Airport (approximately 20 km) also means strong connections to the logistics and aviation industries developing in the Devanahalli-Doddaballapur corridor.
Placement and Career Scope
SVIT's Training and Placement Cell coordinates campus recruitment for final-year students. IT companies including TCS, Infosys, Wipro and Cognizant recruit from KCET-affiliated VTU colleges through pooled campus recruitment drives. CSE and ISE graduates from VTU colleges in the Bangalore North region typically see offers in the ₹3–6 LPA range from service companies. Higher packages are achieved through off-campus recruitment and competitive exam preparation alongside the degree programme.
For Mechanical Engineering students, the North Bangalore industrial corridor provides local industry connections. Civil Engineering graduates from VTU colleges typically target government sector roles through competitive examinations including KPSC and UPSC alongside private construction and infrastructure companies.
VTU Affiliation — What It Means for Students
Affiliation to Visvesvaraya Technological University means SVIT follows VTU's centralised examination system. All semester examinations are conducted by VTU and degrees are awarded by VTU. The VTU degree is recognised for Central and State government job applications, PSU recruitment and higher education admissions across India. GATE examination, which is the primary route to PSU jobs and MTech admissions at IITs and NITs, is based on the VTU engineering syllabus — making VTU affiliation directly relevant for career planning.
