About Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education
Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology (SSIT) is a private engineering college located in Tumkur, Karnataka. It is a constituent institution of Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education (SSAHE), a deemed-to-be university approved by UGC. SSIT offers BTech programmes under SSAHE's deemed university framework — meaning degrees are awarded by SSAHE rather than VTU. SSAHE is the educational wing of the Sri Siddhartha Education Trust, which also manages Sri Siddhartha Medical College, Sri Siddhartha Dental College and several other institutions in Tumkur.
Admission is through SSAHE's own entrance examination and merit-based process, JEE Mains scores, and direct applications. The college does not participate in KCET counselling as it is a deemed university institution, not a VTU-affiliated college. Applications are submitted at ssahe.ac.in.

Deemed University Status — What It Means
SSAHE is a UGC-recognised deemed-to-be university, meaning SSIT degrees are awarded by SSAHE rather than VTU. The degree is valid for government jobs, higher education and employment. Unlike VTU's centralised examination system, SSAHE conducts its own semester examinations with the flexibility a university has in curriculum design and examination scheduling.
Students considering SSIT should verify the current fee structure and admission process directly at SSAHE's website, as deemed university admissions differ from KCET/COMEDK processes.
Tumkur — Siddaganga Hub
Tumkur is 70 km northwest of Bangalore on NH-48 (Bangalore-Pune highway). Tumkur's economy spans textiles, silk, agro-processing and a growing industrial sector on the Tumkur road corridor adjacent to Bangalore.
SSAHE Multi-Campus Advantage
Being part of SSAHE's campus in Tumkur alongside the medical college, dental college and nursing college creates an interdisciplinary academic environment. Engineering students have exposure to healthcare technology applications — medical equipment, hospital infrastructure and biomedical engineering — through proximity to active healthcare institutions. This interdisciplinary exposure is relevant for students interested in the growing healthcare technology sector.
