About Siddaganga Institute of Technology
Siddaganga Institute of Technology (SIT) is a private engineering college located in Tumkur, Karnataka. Approved by AICTE and affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), SIT is managed by the Sri Siddaganga Education Society, the educational wing of the Siddaganga Math — the most prominent Veerashaiva monastic institution in Karnataka. SIT is one of Karnataka's most respected private engineering colleges, carrying the institutional legacy of Sri Siddaganga Math and its late pontiff Sri Shivakumara Swamiji, who was revered across Karnataka as "Walking God" for his lifetime of social service and education.

Siddaganga Math — Educational Legacy
The Siddaganga Math has run free residential educational institutions (Annadana Satra) for underprivileged children for over a century — providing free food, accommodation and education to thousands of students across Tumkur district. This legacy of accessible education informs SIT's institutional culture. Sri Shivakumara Swamiji (1907–2019), who led the Math for over 70 years, received the Padma Bhushan in 2015 and Karnataka Ratna in 2006 for his lifelong service. The Math's values of discipline, service and academic commitment are embedded in SIT's campus culture.
