Ballari — Steel and Iron Ore Capital
Ballari is India's iron ore capital. JSW Steel's Vijayanagara Works (50 km away at Toranagallu) is one of the world's largest steel plants at 12 MTPA. NMDC (National Mineral Development Corporation) operates the Donimalai-Sandur iron ore mines — among the richest iron ore deposits globally. This steel and mining concentration makes Ballari one of Karnataka's best districts for Mechanical Engineering employment, with plant maintenance, production engineering and mining equipment roles consistently available to graduates.
RYMEC's long presence in Ballari gives it an established alumni network across the JSW, NMDC and mining sector, providing referral access for current students entering the local employment market.
