KMC Mangalore — 70 Years of Excellence
KMC Mangalore's 70-year history has built one of Karnataka's deepest medical alumni networks across coastal Karnataka, the Gulf and internationally. The 2,000+ bed Kasturba Hospital complex at Attavar is one of Mangaluru's largest multi-specialty hospitals, serving as a regional referral centre for Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and north Kerala. KMC Mangalore's MD/MS and super-speciality (DM/MCh) programmes make it a complete academic medical centre that produces specialists who practice across Karnataka, India and internationally.
The Manipal-KMC brand's global recognition — with alumni in NHS hospitals, US academic medical centres, Australian hospitals and Gulf institutions — makes KMC Mangalore one of Karnataka's strongest platforms for international medical career aspirations, comparable to KMC Manipal. The MAHE Institution of Eminence status supports international partnerships, research collaborations and student exchange programmes that enhance the academic environment for both campuses.
Gulf and International Career Pathways
Mangaluru's coastal Karnataka NRI diaspora and the Manipal group's global alumni network combine to give KMC Mangalore graduates unmatched international career access. USMLE, PLAB and AMC pathways for US, UK and Australian residency are strongly supported through the MAHE network's international university partnerships.
Career Scope
KMC Mangalore MBBS graduates are sought by NEET-PG institutions nationally and internationally. Gulf healthcare employment, UK NHS and US residency pathways alongside Karnataka private hospital employment and independent specialist practice in Mangaluru are the primary career options. KMC Mangalore consistently produces some of Karnataka's highest NEET-PG scorers given its strong academic culture.
