About JSS Women's Polytechnic Mysore
JSS Polytechnic for Women, Mysuru, operates under the JSS Mahavidyapeetha — the educational wing of Sri Jagadguru Shivarathri Rajendra Mahasamsthana Math, Suttur, led by His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji. JSS Mahavidyapeetha is one of Karnataka's most comprehensive educational organisations, managing JSS Academy of Technical Education (JSSATE Bengaluru), JSS Science and Technology University (Mysuru), JSS Medical College and Hospital, JSS Dental College, and 300+ institutions spanning primary school to postgraduate level. JSS Polytechnic for Women is a dedicated women-only technical diploma institution in Mysuru, providing a single-gender technical education environment. Affiliated to DTE Karnataka and approved by AICTE New Delhi.
JSS Polytechnic for Women offers three-year Diploma programmes in engineering disciplines including Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Commercial Practice — following the KBTE curriculum. As a JSS Mahavidyapeetha aided institution, fees are subsidised. Admission is through DTE Karnataka centralised counselling. Women from SC/ST, OBC, and minority communities qualify for government scholarship schemes. JSS group scholarships are also available. Diploma graduates can pursue lateral entry into BE programmes at JSS Academy of Technical Education or other VTU-affiliated engineering colleges in Mysuru.
JSS Mahavidyapeetha's educational philosophy — rooted in the Suttur Math's Dasoha (service) tradition — explicitly prioritises women's education and access for socially and economically disadvantaged communities. The women's polytechnic model ensures that women from conservative social backgrounds in Mysuru, Nanjangud, T. Narasipura, and surrounding taluks can access technical diploma education in a single-gender setting within the protective academic umbrella of one of Karnataka's most respected institutional networks.
