Admission Process

KCET: Qualify KCET and participate in KEA's counselling. JNNCE is listed under Shivamogga district. Students from Shivamogga, Bhadravathi, Sagar, Tirthahalli and surrounding Malnad taluks choose JNNCE as a local BTech option before considering Bangalore or Davangere colleges.

COMEDK: COMEDK qualifiers apply through COMEDK's centralised process for Karnataka private engineering colleges.

Shivamogga — Gateway to Malnad

Shivamogga is Karnataka's "Gateway to Malnad" — the lush, rain-drenched Western Ghats foothills region of paddy fields, areca nut and coffee plantations. The district hosts the Sharavathi hydroelectric project complex (one of Karnataka's largest hydro power facilities at Jog Falls area), Bhadra reservoir and extensive agri-industrial infrastructure. For JNNCE EEE graduates, Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL) operates the Linganamakki and Sharavathi hydroelectric plants in the district, providing directly relevant local employment for power engineers.

Shivamogga's expanding city infrastructure includes new residential layouts, the Shivamogga airport (newly operational) and a growing commercial sector. The Shivamogga-Davangere-Chitradurga corridor on NH-169 is seeing significant road infrastructure investment.

Infrastructure

  • Computing labs for CSE and ISE departments
  • Electronics and communication lab with signal processing equipment
  • Mechanical workshop
  • Civil engineering materials and structural lab
  • Electrical machines lab relevant to hydroelectric power context
  • Central library with VTU references
  • Hostel for outstation students
  • Sports facilities

Career Scope

JNNCE graduates access Bangalore IT employment (270 km) through VTU zone-wise placement drives. EEE graduates have direct local access to KPCL's hydroelectric power plants, Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation (KPTCL) grid infrastructure and the renewable energy sector developing in the Shivamogga-Davangere corridor. Civil Engineering graduates target dam and hydroelectric civil works, Malnad road and bridge construction and the rapidly expanding Shivamogga city infrastructure development. Mechanical graduates access agro-processing machinery, paper mills (Shivamogga district has paper manufacturing) and construction equipment roles.
