Government Polytechnic Bagalkot

Government Polytechnic Bagalkot is a state-run diploma-level technical institution under the Department of Collegiate and Technical Education (DCTE), Government of Karnataka, located in Bagalkot — the administrative headquarters of Bagalkot District in north Karnataka. Bagalkot District was created in 1997 when Bijapur District was bifurcated. The institution is approved by AICTE New Delhi and affiliated to the Board of Technical Examinations, Karnataka.

Government Polytechnic Bagalkot offers three-year Diploma programmes in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering, following the KBTE curriculum. Government fees apply at approximately Rs. 4,270 per year. Admission is through DTE Karnataka centralised counselling based on SSLC merit. SC/ST, OBC, and economically weaker section students qualify for government scholarship and fee reimbursement schemes. Lateral entry for ITI certificate holders is available through DCET.
