Unlike VTU-affiliated colleges, GITAM does not follow KEA/KCET or COMEDK counselling processes — all admissions are centralised through GITAM's own portal.
Students considering GITAM Bangalore should verify current course offerings and fee structure at the official site, as the Bangalore campus's programme portfolio has evolved over time.
GITAM University — Deemed University Status
As a deemed university, GITAM awards its own BTech degree (not a VTU degree). This means the degree is awarded in GITAM's name rather than VTU. GITAM degrees are UGC-recognised and accepted by employers and for higher education. The key difference from VTU-affiliated college graduates: GITAM graduates have a deemed university degree rather than a VTU degree. Both are valid for government jobs, PSU recruitment and higher education admissions.
