About DGM Ayurveda Medical College Gadag
Shri DGM Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, Gadag, was established in 1979 under the Gadag-Dharwad Mahanagara Palike, located near Shivanand Math in Gadag city. It is among the senior Ayurveda colleges in Karnataka, having started PG courses as early as 1996. The college is affiliated to RGUHS Bangalore and recognised by CCIM (Central Council of Indian Medicine), New Delhi, and the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.
NCISM has approved 60 seats for BAMS and 19 PG seats across four specialities: Dravyaguna (4 seats), Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana (5 seats), Kayachikitsa (5 seats), and Panchakarma (5 seats) for the current academic year.
Admission is through NEET UG for BAMS, and AIAPGET for MD/MS Ayurveda. KEA conducts centralised counselling for Karnataka state quota seats. The college library holds over 12,854 books and subscribes to 46 national and international journals.
DGM Ayurveda Medical College has a publication division that has produced Ayurvedic textbooks including Essentials of Basic Ayurveda Concepts and Panchakarma Sarasangraha. A quarterly health magazine is also published by the college. The institution has been ranked 16th in Karnataka and holds a QCI grade of 'B' with AIR 58.
Placement records show 50 students placed from 65 offers in 2023, with 14 companies visiting campus. Starting packages range from ₹3.7 LPA to ₹6.8 LPA. Top recruiters include Ayurvedic hospitals and research centres.
