About RR Institute of Technology
RR Institute of Technology (RRIT) is a private engineering college located in Chikkabanavara, on the Bangalore-Tumkur Road (NH-48), Bangalore North. Approved by AICTE and affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, RRIT offers BTech programmes in core engineering disciplines. The college is situated approximately 18 km from Bangalore city centre, in a zone that has seen substantial industrial and residential development along the Tumkur Road corridor.
RRIT admits Karnataka students through KCET and students from other states through COMEDK UGET, with an AICTE-approved intake of 300 students.

Admission Process
KCET (Karnataka students): Qualify KCET through KEA. RRIT participates in KEA's online Option Entry counselling. The college is listed under Bangalore Urban district in KEA's allocation system.
COMEDK (all states): COMEDK UGET qualifiers can apply to RRIT through COMEDK's centralised counselling for Karnataka private engineering colleges.
Tumkur Road Industrial Corridor — Location Advantage
RRIT's location on NH-48 (Bangalore-Tumkur Road) places it within one of Karnataka's most significant industrial zones. The Peenya Industrial Estate — one of Asia's largest industrial areas with over 15,000 industrial units — is approximately 10 km from RRIT. The Tumkur Road corridor hosts industries including precision engineering, electronics components manufacturing, garment factories and food processing units. This industrial density creates internship, project and placement opportunities for Mechanical, ECE and EEE engineering students that are less accessible from colleges in other parts of Bangalore.
The planned Peripheral Ring Road (PRR) and the Metro Phase 3 extension along the Tumkur Road corridor are expected to significantly improve connectivity for this zone of Bangalore, which will benefit RRIT students and faculty commuting from across the city.

Career Scope for RRIT Graduates
CSE and ECE graduates from RRIT participate in VTU zone-wise placement drives for Bangalore North zone colleges. IT service companies conducting pooled recruitment from this zone include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL and Capgemini. Mechanical Engineering graduates have direct industry access through the Peenya and Tumkur Road industrial belt for internships and entry-level roles in manufacturing engineering, quality control and production management.
