About Indian Institute of Science Bangalore
The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore is India's premier research university and one of the world's leading institutions for scientific research and advanced technology education. Established in 1909 through the joint efforts of Jamsetji Tata, the Maharaja of Mysore and the Government of India, IISc is designated an Institution of National Importance and a deemed university under the IISc Act. IISc's undergraduate BTech programme (Bachelor of Science Research, BSc Research) was launched in 2011. Admission to the 4-year BSc Research programme is exclusively through JEE Advanced rank (for science and mathematics streams).
