About East Point Engineering College for Women
East Point College of Engineering for Women (EPCE for Women) is a women-only private engineering college located in Avalahalli, Virgonagar, East Bangalore. Approved by AICTE and affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), EPCE for Women is managed by the East Point Group of Institutions. The college provides engineering education in a dedicated women-only environment, addressing the gender diversity gap in Karnataka's engineering sector. The East Point campus in East Bangalore also houses East Point College of Engineering (co-educational) and East Point College of Medical Sciences.
EPCE for Women admits Karnataka women students through KCET (women's reservation seats) and through COMEDK UGET for other state women students. The AICTE-approved intake is 300 students across BTech disciplines.

Women-Only Engineering Education — Why It Matters
Karnataka's engineering sector has a significant gender gap — women represent roughly 30% of engineering enrolments at co-educational colleges. Women-only engineering colleges like EPCE address this by creating an environment where women students take on all leadership roles in technical clubs, project teams, event management and student government without gender-based competition dynamics. Research on women-only STEM education consistently shows higher confidence and leadership development outcomes compared to co-educational institutions.
For families from conservative backgrounds, women-only engineering colleges also provide an academically rigorous option with additional safety assurance, which can be the deciding factor between a daughter pursuing engineering or a non-technical alternative.
Admission Process
KCET (Karnataka women students): Karnataka reserves 5% horizontal reservation for women across all categories in government college admissions. Additionally, women-only engineering colleges like EPCE exclusively admit women candidates. Appear for KCET and choose EPCE through KEA's Option Entry. EPCE is listed under Bangalore Urban district in KEA's college list.
COMEDK: Women students from other states can apply through COMEDK UGET and select EPCE during COMEDK counselling.

Career Scope
EPCE women graduates enter the IT sector through VTU East Bangalore zone pooled placement drives. Companies specifically targeting women engineering graduates — including Accenture, Capgemini and several mid-size product companies with active gender diversity hiring programmes — conduct targeted drives at women engineering colleges. This gives EPCE graduates access to recruitment channels that are specifically designed to improve gender diversity in the engineering workforce, providing a placement advantage in companies with active diversity goals.
