Eligibility
- Class 12 passed or appearing with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
- Minimum 60% aggregate in PCM for General category

Preparation Strategy
No Negative Marking — Attempt Everything
The single biggest strategic point: SRMJEEE has no negative marking. A student who attempts all 125 questions gets marks for every correct answer with zero penalty for wrong ones. In the last 10 minutes of the exam, mark every unattempted question with your best guess. This alone can add 10–20 marks.
Difficulty Level
SRMJEEE difficulty is between Class 12 board exam level and JEE Mains. Students doing JEE Mains preparation are significantly over-prepared for SRMJEEE — they can appear without dedicated additional preparation. Students who are not preparing for JEE should spend 4–6 weeks on Class 12 PCM concepts before attempting SRMJEEE mocks.
English and Aptitude Section
20 questions worth 60 marks — do not neglect this. It covers basic verbal ability, reading comprehension and logical reasoning. 2 weeks of 30 minutes daily practice is enough for most Karnataka students to score 50+ out of 60 here.
Previous Papers
Previous year SRMJEEE papers are available on the official SRM website and through coaching material. Complete at least 5 full-length papers under timed conditions before the exam. The question style is consistent year to year.
